Workforce Innovations 2008, the U.S. Department of Labor's premier annual conference for local, state, and national workforce, business, economic development, education, community-based organizations, and philanthropy leaders, is proud to present Business Leadership Day for Regional Transformation - a "conference within a conference" designed for you to learn how your business and community can tap into solutions to address employers' hiring and training needs.

In partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute for a Competitive Workforce, Business Leadership Day is designed for the business community to share ideas, learn how to leverage regional resources, and develop effective public/private partnerships. Business Leadership Day highlights include a Plenary Session with high-level CEOs, including Frank Glaviano, Sr., Vice President, Production Americas, Shell Exploration & Production, targeted Learning Labs for employers (see below), and networking opportunities designed exclusively for you. Super Session and Learning Labs
We have created a special series of Super Sessions and Learning Labs designed to provide you with real "takeaway strategies" for engaging the public workforce system, including the local One-Stop and Workforce Investment Board, on everything from recruiting to skills training. You will also hear from leading corporate voices about how they are transforming their workforce to stay competitive in the global economy. Learning Labs will be geared to employers who are new to the workforce system and/or have limited knowledge of or engagement in the system as well as to employers with a higher level of workforce system knowledge, experience, and involvement.
